USCIS to Use New Edition of Form I-131 Starting October 11, 2024
USCIS has announced that, effective October 11, 2024, it will use the June 17, 2024 edition of Form I-131, renamed "Application for Travel Document, Parole Document, and Arrival/Departure Record." The prior April 1, 2024 edition is void as of the same date, with no grace period: older editions postmarked on or after October 11 will be rejected, while older editions postmarked before that date will still be accepted.
USCIS announced today that it will release a new edition of Form I-131, with the edition date 06/17/24, for use beginning 10/11/2024. The previous edition, 04/01/24, will be void on the same date, with no grace period; this means that if you submit an application using the old edition after 10/11/2024, it will be rejected. In addition, the new form's title has been changed to "Application for Travel Documents, Parole Documents, and Arrival/Departure Records" (the old title was "Application for Travel Documents"). The USCIS notice follows.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will release a new edition of Form I-131 (edition date 06/17/2024) on October 11, 2024, and will rename the form to 'Application for Travel Document, Parole Document, and Arrival/Departure Record.'
Because USCIS has made significant changes to both the I-131 form and its internal acceptance procedures, the new edition of Form I-131 (06/17/2024 edition) will have no filing grace period. Starting October 11, 2024, USCIS will reject any application submitted using the 04/01/2024 edition of the form.
